it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My fifth grade students really care about each other and have a great sense of humor. They have loved our reading time this year. They often say our reading time is their favorite time of day.
I'm always on the hunt for good books that teach reading skills and have a great message.
Some of the books can teach goal setting. Goal setting is important in classroom communities. When your students set their own goals, they take ownership of their learning, and persevere to reach their goals; setting new ones frequently. The other books I chose can help my students develop their inferencing skills by asking questions and collecting evidence to help them infer and truly understand the story and the author's message.
