My Project

My students are unique and special because of all the hurdles they have overcome. Within the past 3 years they have overcome, protocols, masking, pivoting, health and safety measures, and constant changing. They have been so resilient and adaptive, that it amazes me daily. They are able to adjust and overcome through all the changes that we have implemented.

The most telling has been with our current situation, unsafe water.

Our school, in Hawai'i, is one of the schools affected by the Red Hill water situation. The students have had most of their school year washing hands with a pump from bottled water. They have had to deal with living in hotels, finding clean water sources, and the stresses of not having water readily available for them to use in their homes.

I am kindly requesting new chairs for my students. We have very old chairs that are in need of updating. The chairs are bulky and make a lot of noise. A lot of times, the students have difficulty putting them up on their desk. The new chairs will allow students to not only be seated comfortably but also help them move them around the room safely when we do group work!
