Help me give my students the tools and equipment they need to race for their school Goblin Team, including tools to work on our car, gloves and helmets to race in, and a battery charger.

My Students

I teach in a K-6th grade school of about 850 students. I sponsor an after school Greenpower Racing Team. There are 20 students on the team made up of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.

My team members are fun loving and eager to learn!

These students spend hours each week after school designing, building, and driving our Goblin Car. These students learn team building, collaboration, and work through the Engineering Design Process at each practice as they create our car. They give up their weekend to race and compete against other schools. These students are dedicated to their team and representing their school.

My Project

Our school Goblin team needs materials and equipment to be more successful. We need our own toolkit. We have to borrow tools from parents and our school plant manager. These tools are not always readily available when we need to fix a part on our car. We need proper helmets with face shields to protect our student drivers when racing. Our equipment is old and we do not have enough helmets for all of the drivers on our team. We currently have a battery charger, but has slowly started to not work causing our car batteries to charge incorrectly. It has impacted our practice days before a race and caused issues with our car working.

This amazing group of students wants to have the equipment they need to race for success.

Goblin team teaches students collaboration, teamwork, car mechanics, and sportsmanship. The students on this team learn a great deal about Greenpower racing and engineering through this after school club. Please help support them in this adventure!
