This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The Aztec Media group consists of three classes during the day and an after-school club for those unable to fit the Digital Communications course into their schedule.

We create the first draft of history for our high school through the yearbook, online newspaper, social media outlets and other projects.

The editorial board of veteran staffers leads the way while students from grades 9-12 with varying levels of experience and specialties work together every day to tell our stories and preserve CCHS history.

My Project

... it's an amazing yearbook photo! The Aztec Media program is looking to reach the next level - literally - by adding aerial photography and video to our stable of creative and technological tools.

The use of a camera drone will allow students to capture the yearbook moments and tell stories in the newspaper and social media from angles we never have before.

Plus, the technology will increase the STEM emphasis in their technical skills to help prepare them for the jobs of the next century.

The sky is the limit with what we could do - from a new look at band formations to sports photography you only see on TV to a new way to see our campus.
