This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Many students have a difficult time paying attention in class. However, when there is the added distraction of itching and scratching, it could be overwhelming for kids.
Our students are from low socioeconomic households.
The parents work and barely make enough for food let alone lice kits. Our school is working to help the parents of children with chronic head lice. The lice kits would help these young kids be able to pay attention because we can treat them in the school.
My Project
The students who have chronic lice issues are not treated regularly due to the cost. If we could get the kits in the school, treat the kids while in attendance, it would benefit the students by not having them miss school. It would also take the financial burden off the parents of these kids.
Teaching students that people care about their health will make them care more about their health and education.
Kids need to be in school, comfortable, and free of distractions in order to get the most out of learning. Getting rid of lice will be paramount in the school.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
