Mr. Shelton from Stevenson AL is requesting lab equipment through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.

It Really Is A Small World After All!

Help me give my students a tool to better view specimens that are actually too large to easily view with a traditional compound microscope. Insects, plant structure, mixtures, etc. can all be viewed more effectively with a stereomicroscope.

My Students

My students are 7th and 8th graders who generally come from low socio-economic living conditions with unimaginable potential.

Many of them will not be able to acquire the lab fee requested at the beginning of the year.

Even though they may struggle to come up with needed materials and supplies, they still deserve the same opportunities and experiences that any other child would receive. With your partnership, we can ensure they get a top notch science education!

My Project

We have been blessed in the past with donors who helped us acquire compound microscopes to view microscopic organisms. I am asking for you to consider assisting us in being able to better view a world that isn't "microscopic", but also not large enough to see in detail with the naked eye. In 7th grade, we study biodiversity using plant structures and insects. In 8th grade, we study mixtures. These specimens are oftentimes too large to effectively view through the compound microscopes. It would be a great asset to my classroom to have a stereomicroscope station where students could view these specific organisms.
