This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are curious, motivated and thoughtful learners! The majority are ENLs who come into our classrooms every day with the eagerness of becoming feature leaders, scientists, artists, etc.

They are big dreamers and believe that they can make a difference and achieve their goals If the support and the opportunity are given to them.

They love to read, write and draw, do math and do hands-on activities!

The majority of my students are English language learners and students with disabilities, who require exposures to the best educational experiences; therefore, hands-on​ and realia are a must in my classroom. Many of my students struggle to understand and grasp math concepts and they need to be exposed to visual and concrete samples in order for them to get it.

Each day student in my classroom is unique and it is my responsibility as their teacher to find the best and effective way to help them achieve their potential. My classroom is full of excitement about doing math, understanding math and math concepts through hands on and concrete samples.

My Project

Math centers are used daily basis in my classroom. With your contribution to my project, you will be helping my students understand math concepts and make math a fun learning experience. These centers will enrich the math curriculum for all of my students and give them the extra practice they need in a fun and exciting way!

By making a donation to my project, you will not only help to increase my students' academic achievement, but you will also ultimately help to foster a life-long love of math.

When I teach math, I like to provide students a variety of ways to learn the topic. I use a multi-modal approach to help me ensure that my teaching fits everyone individual student. I also teach in small groups and one-to-one for those who need​ that accommodation. In this way, my students have multiple opportunities to grasp math concepts in my classroom.

After I teach a math lesson, students will have their choice of math centers. This will provide all of them, regardless of their skill level, with engaging activities to support the math skills they have just learned. A strong foundation in mathematics is essential to a students future. I hope to provide my students with a deep understanding and love of math and these centers will help me do so!
