Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a great First Grade class in an Urban school. Our students are in a rigorous learning program. We enjoy using pieces of technology to help us in the learning process. My class benefits from hands-on activities when it comes to math. We use manipulatives, drawings, and cooperative learning. What we need most is calculators. With all the other methods we use, the use of calculators for improving our math program will be great. I know that all my students will find the use of calculators exciting. Many mathematical problems will be solved with these calculators. We will also be preparing my students for the time when they will use the calculators on the standard tests. Introducing new technology to great, new minds will be invaluable.
