My students need an iPad to assist in gaining background knowledge for a variety of settings but mostly during guided reading.

My Students

My students are great kids!

My students come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.

The free and reduced-price lunch percentage at my school is above the 50th percentile. The poverty rate in our community is on the rise. These high poverty rates and free and reduced-price lunch rates do not interfere with the high morale my students have. They are eager to learn and are so excited about learning. I hear the words "I love school" or "I'm sad the day is over" quite often on a daily basis.

My Project

This iPad will be used throughout the entire day and in all content areas by multiple students. Students will be able to gain background knowledge before reading a guided reading book together. Students will be able to sit together to read and ask questions about online books they read. Students will be able to easily practice math skills such as using the digital subscriptions that come along with our textbook series or reinforce basic math fact computation. Students will be able to engage in researching various science and social studies topics. They will be able to access a wide array of educational apps that assist with learning in all content areas.

This iPad will enrich my classroom because it will give students easy access to new technology experiences.

An iPad is an easy, user-friendly, kid-friendly way to integrate the latest and most accurate information. Students will be engaged in learning. Students will be eager to learn because they will be able to use a tablet.

My English Language Learners will be able to use this iPad to practice both English and the language most spoken in the home.
