Isn't it about Time. . .that students were excited to read? I teach a group of 5th grade students that have a wide variety of reading levels and interests. The students come from a small town that does not give them many opportunities for expanding their knowledge of other areas of the world.
Every chance they get, my students want to ask questions about other parts of the world, but we don't have many resources to increase their understanding. Time magazine is known for showcasing events that happen around the world in an interesting and exciting fashion. Despite the varied reading levels in my classroom, all of my students would actively engage in reading these magazines due to the high interest that the students would have in the articles. Many students who have a low reading level are intimidated by books but feel more comfortable reading magazines due to the shorter articles and accompanying pictures. High level students find the information irresistible, and low level students gain confidence in their ability to read.
With 30 copies of the "Time for Kids" magazines, my students can learn more about the world while increasing their reading comprehension and fluency.
Please help introduce my students to an excellent source of nonfiction, high interest reading material which will help them develop an interest in the global world and foster a love of reading.

TIME For Kids Magazine- World Report Edition w/ TFK Around the World (grades 4-6). Pricing is valid for orders placed after March 2008. After August 15th of current school year, pricing will remain in effect but TIME For Kids reserves the right to prorate issue quantity and free gifts.
