My Students
I teach fifth grade reading in one of the best rural schools in Oklahoma. My students are a diverse group with varied levels of learning. Our classroom is a space where students enjoy coming to learn. We are a Title I school with the majority of our students receiving free lunch.
These students have huge hearts and love to learn in non-traditional ways, such as room transformations, integrating the arts into our lessons, and project-based learning.
My students have curiosity, creativity, compassion, and positive attitudes. They are truly amazing people. My school is wonderfully supportive of the active hands-on learning that we do in our classroom. I couldn't ask for a better learning environment for these students. We are truly a community!
My Project
We plan to use the Epson color printer ink to create our own family history books, #ISeeMe poetry books, and personalized art projects. We are all individuals with many backgrounds, varied family histories, and individual strengths. We need to spice up our learning! Having resources printed in color is more appealing to the eye and more exciting to the students, and gives them the ability to share what they feel represents their heritage and culture. These materials will provide my students an opportunity to showcase their hard work. They deserve to shine! My goal is to help each student become engaged in reading and writing, feel special as they create their life story books, and inspire them to continue long after they have left my classroom!
My students will be excited to create their #ISeeMe books that we can create with the Epson Workforce Pro color printer!
When students are excited they are more likely to be engaged and enthusiastic about their learning. Having access to a color printer with ink will help me to address their ever changing abilities and tailor their learning activities for their developmental levels in a new and engaging manner.
