My Students

My classroom is full of excitement. I like to take my children on many learning adventures through virtual labs. It's hard for every student to get the opportunity to do this, that is why we need Mini IPads so more students would be able to explore the experience.

My students are very diverse.

With the struggling economy within the county I t makes it hard on education, especially when there are items you need for your classroom, my school is in a very poor rural area. Parental involvement is very minimal and majority of the students come from low income families or they are being raised by grandparents. My school is a very welcoming and nurturing school, the teachers work really hard on providing the students with the best education possible. We try to supply them with everything they need. It's hard sometimes when you don't have the adequate supplies you need.

My Project

With budget cuts in our school system it so hard to actually do hands on labs because of the lack of supply. I started using virtual labs because the students get to interact with it and it's like their actually doing it hands on. My students get so discouraged sometimes because they don't get to actually do it as groups because of the lack of computer. By getting the iPad minis this will allow students to work in groups doing virtual labs and being able to create hypothesis and see if their outcome is going to be correct.

Funding this project would make a huge difference.

Students would be more engaged and it would give them that sense of self worth. When they are able to use the virtual lab and take notes that makes them feel like a real Scientist..
