Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 17 hard-working and loving second graders. They are some of the sweetest students you will ever meet. My students are full​ of energy and are always excited to learn!

We are a small campus, and I would like to provide them with meaningful, fun, and positive learning experiences.

My students inspire me to be the best teacher I can be! They love technology and would love having classroom iPads! They are very enthusiastic about having technology in the class.

My Project

My second graders love having iPads in our class! The iPads help engage my students through technology. The iPads are used in several ways. My students can use the iPads to do research to complete our Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) activities.

The iPads are used as incentives so that my students are able to use educational apps and listen to stories!

They love using the iPads to play Kahoot, an interactive learning quiz game, that we use as a review. The students use the iPads as their device to answer the questions on the board, just like a game show!

My students need to complete several Accelerated Reader (A.R.) tests. Once they have finished reading their books, they have the technology available to take their tests in my class. My students will have an A.R. goal they will need to reach every grading period. Students are able to take an A.R. test as soon as they finish their work instead of waiting to go to the computer lab. The iPads being readily available makes it easier for the students to take their online tests and assignments as soon as possible. iReady is now available on the iPads, and this program assists my students and I during our small group instruction time. Students are required to complete 45 minutes of reading and 45 minutes of math of iReady weekly. Having the iPads in my class helps my students reach their iReady weekly goal. It will help those students who don't have access to the internet at home or were unable to complete their iReady assignment. We are also asking for an iPad case so that the iPad will be protected.
