My Students

We always tend to celebrate "firsts" whether it be the first president of the United States, the first man on the moon, the first black President, or even a first birthday! My students are the very definition of "first." To address overcrowding, our school is being built from the ground up and housing any students who do not have siblings in an existing school.

The first class in a brand new school, all of our students are the first-born children in their families.

This will be their first time in a classroom! This year will be the first time, for many, that they learn to read, write, and count. We couldn't be more excited to celebrate a year full of firsts!

My Project

Many of our students struggle to sit for longer than a few minutes. They often find themselves feeling the need to move. To support them in increasing their stamina, it is important to give them the tools they need so they can succeed!

With these cushions and weighted lap resources, we are confident our students' sensory needs will be fulfilled.

The cushions we asked for will provide a sense of satisfaction to our students with sensory needs. The small bumps or texture of the filling will help them remain seated as they learn. The weighted lap resources, such as a dog and lap pads, will ease anxiety for our little ones who are missing their parents throughout the day. These tools encourage students to move less.

We also felt it was important to support other learners' needs. With the pencil grips and tongs, our students who with pinching and fine motor strength will learn to write with ease.
