My Students

The above affirmation is recited by the students, preceded by 15 seconds of mediation before class begins daily. I tell them that you are who you believe you will become. This affirmation sets the tone and expectations of the class.
I teach at a Title I school in Atlanta; the majority of the students are from low S.E.C. and they do not always have access to technology. They are eager and willing to learn. I foster an environment conducive to learning where students believe and become everything they aspire to be.
My Project
My students and I are asking for your generous donation of dry erase boards, flip charts, and rulers.
We are asking for a class set of dry erase boards.
These boards will allow us to display our answers quickly and simultaneously during whole group and collaborative instruction. We are additionally asking for flip charts to display mathematical procedures and examples. Displaying them gives us direction when we are doing independent practice. Lastly, we would like to be gifted a class set of rulers to increase our proficiency as we draw shapes and diagrams in our Geometry unit.
