Is That You, Van Gogh?
My students need a class set of paints and paintbrushes to provide opportunities to express themselves through art for many years to come!
Do you remember the first time you painted a picture? My kindergarten students LOVE painting! Due to budget constraints our district is not able to provide non-essential supplies.
When you walk into our classroom you will see 20 smiling faces that are eager to learn.
My students are like sponges who look forward to finding out what every new day has in store for them. Kindergarten students are like little sponges that absorb everything. Even though our school has a high poverty population, we are not lacking in enthusiasm.
"A picture is worth a thousand words," Fred S. Shapiro was right when he said this famous quote. The smile on a child's face when they paint something that actually looks like what they intended it to is priceless. They can't wait to share their new found skill with their family and friends. Some students that struggle in other areas find their talent to be in art. Once they discover their ability to paint, there is no stopping them!
Our class utilizes paints daily at our centers and occasionally for a class project.
If we are lucky enough to have this project funded, we will be able to continue this tradition for many years to come.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
