My Project
At I.S. 291, we are seeking funding to purchase a new computer charging cart to ensure our students have reliable access to the technology they need to succeed in the classroom. Our school serves a diverse population in Bushwick, Brooklyn, where many of our families face economic challenges. As a Title 1 school, we are committed to providing equitable educational opportunities for every student, regardless of their background.
How the Charging Cart Will Make a Difference in Learning: The computer charging cart will have a profound impact on our student's ability to engage with technology-based lessons and activities.
With a dedicated and organized charging station, we can ensure that all our devices are fully charged and ready for use. In today’s world, technology is a key component of a student’s education, and having the tools available and functional at all times is essential for their academic growth.
The charging cart will also help us maintain the longevity of our devices, preventing wear and tear from improper storage or charging. It will allow us to streamline the management of multiple devices, saving teachers time and ensuring that no student is left behind due to a dead device.
At students, I.S. 291 is incredibly resilient, creative, and determined. Many come from underserved backgrounds, yet they possess an extraordinary passion for learning and an eagerness to overcome any obstacle. Despite facing financial and social challenges, they show a remarkable drive to succeed and make the most out of the resources available to them.
