My students need the iRover2 Premium Center, Epson projector, and Dry Erase board to enhance our learning environment and to bring our classroom into the 21st Century.
I need your help to empower my students to become who they are supposed to be, not what we think they should be. I know it's difficult sometimes to hear, but they're creative beings who just need a chance and a place to become those bright stars in our universe. Will you help change our surroundings?
This is my first year at a model school that incorporates performing and visual arts.
Our urban school provides federal programs like free and reduced lunch and Title 1 to economically disadvantaged boys and girls. We are a class of several military families. My students are energetic and very busy within the classroom. Even with parental support, I would love to say that my students have everything that they need to be successful. But they don't. I am preparing all of them for college and the world beyond, so they can have a better life.
I inherited a classroom that was the SPACE room last year. There is nothing in our room except desks, chairs, and bookshelves. I would like to create a learning environment that touches all seven multiple intelligences.
My Project
It is difficult trying to teach students in the 21st century when your classroom has no workable space for learning. We live in an age where technology is used all around our students, but they don't have experience using it. I would like to equip my classroom for STEM learning with the iRover2 Premium Interactive Teaching Center. This would add a Dry Erase board space to our classroom to attach our Mimio system. We also need an Epson projector to make it functional. This amazing center will add mobility to our learning stations for my kinesthetic students who need to move around. Plus it will give my spatial students a bright, clear, and colorful experience while learning. This Teaching Center will allow my shy (intrapersonal) students to find a place among the leaders (interpersonal) in my class by being able to express themselves. For my Logical and Linguistic students, they have another forum to display their talents.
I know that this project is ambitious, but my students are worth it.
