This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class of curious minds loves learning! We spend our days in an environment that promotes lifelong learning and explore the world with creativity and critical thinking. It is amazing to be in a room where thoughts are shared and discussed, connections are made, and ideas are created.
My classroom of CSI agents (Curious Scientific Investigators) is comprised of 25 gifted third grade students who love to ask questions and research to learn more.
Their excitement extends across the curriculum. They thrive on challenges that require them to think out of the box. They crave hands-on activities and love being able to use technology. They flourish when given a chance to use teamwork and problem solve. I am always looking for ways to further enrich their learning experience and incorporate technology.
My Project
Incorporating technology into my students' lessons excites them. Adding three iPads to my classroom and using the applications will provide even more access to science, social studies, reading, and math resources and provide even more chances to flourish with our hands-on and minds-on learning. The addition of these iPads will allow my students the opportunity to further research what we are studying and enhance our project based learning. They will allow the kids to work in groups to investigate a topic, study it in depth, and provide additional ways to present and share the information. They will also open up the world to the kids as we embrace our new Cambridge learning approach with its focus on global learning. The iPads will also allow students to exercise fundamental higher-order thinking skills while developing the important technology component of STEM in our curriculum.
The addition of these iPads will provide enriching experiences and increase opportunities to build a love of learning.
They will give my students a world of resources right at their fingertips. This project will help give the students even more chances to flourish with hands-on minds-on learning.
