This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school has made tremendous gains over the past twelve years, moving from one of the lowest-performing schools in the area to achieving the honor of being named a California Distinguished School!
We are an example of a community of students, teachers, parents, and staff all working together for academic achievement.
Our hope is that many of our students will be the first generation in their families to go to college! The majority of my students are English language learners (ELLs) whose families are newcomers to America. They are highly motivated to learn and prosper.
My Project
The materials I’m requesting will help my at-risk students who have a difficult time printing and are unable to count in order. Even though the students are in third grade, the Covid pandemic made it extremely difficult to practice printing letters with the teacher for almost a year and a half. In addition, some of the students write their letters backwards. I will also teach my at-risk students to count with fun puzzles. Some students skip numbers while they count. The fashion designer will be used for a class project on the process of design and how marketing works.
With your support my students will be able to print properly, learn about designing, marketing, and develop the math sequencing that is much needed.
