This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Our 2nd graders love podcasting -- making small videos of themselves that can be played on an iPod. They are so enthusiastic, and can't wait for their turn.
We've made songs, reports, and even games. We thought we were going to get an iPod from our district, but that hasn't happened because the economy is so tight right now.
Now, we just need a classroom iPod so they students can play the podcasts. It really is a small investment in student learning. They can use iPods in the classroom, lunchroom, or as they walk through the halls. We can download the programs to their personal iPods so the learning can continue at home.
Won't you help us get an iPod so all our hard work will not be in vain? Kids today learn using computers and iPods. If we want to keep them interested and engaged, we have to use "their" technology to "hook" them. Won't you help?
