This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My third grade students love using technology in the classroom. Electronic stories and music are a wonderful way to enrich learning through the use of modern technology.

My school is located in a high-need area, and I want to expose my students to new technology.

Using fine arts to teach in a creative way makes learning fun and exciting. I am searching for ways to include music and electronic literature in my classroom. Technology will allow my students to be exposed to a wide variety of music and literature.

My Project

As a GATE teacher it is always a challenge to find ways to enrich my students' learning. One way to provide new experiences for my class is through music. My students will learn to read music by learning to play the recorder. The iPod is the perfect tool to help me do this. I utilize a teaching resource that includes accompaniment music that enhances the recorder lessons.

Learning to read music provides students with a learning modality that is both challenging and enriching.

The use of the iPod will support my teaching, enrich my lessons, and capture my students' interest in music.
