This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help my students tune into learning in new and exciting ways with an iPod Touch! My students love working with technology but have limited resources in the classroom. This device would help my students get excited about learning and improve reading skills tremendously.

My school is a small, Title I school where a lot of my students qualify for the reduced price or free lunch program.

Many students come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Most are English language learners, speaking English as their second language. My Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten students come to school eager to learn each day.

My Project

An iPod Touch would provide a daily opportunity to differentiate instruction through engaging classroom centers. An iPod would allow the students to build their comprehension and fluency through literacy apps, audio recording, and more! It would allow my students to build their reading stamina by listening to read alouds. Students will be able to use the iSight camera as a scanner to scan different QR codes for literacy and math centers. A classroom iPod touch would allow students to practice and encourage independent learning and small group instruction while working at their own pace.

This project would provide so much excitement and motivation for learning in our transitional kindergarten/ kindergarten classroom.

iPods are constantly adding new learning apps. Our opportunities for learning would be limitless! The students would truly benefit from the device on a daily basis. Thank you for your consideration!
