My students need more opportunities to use technology during math and reading centers. Two ipod Touches will allow them to use educational apps for practice and remediation.
Technology is all around us. It can be used for entertainment, and to gain information. My students are discovering how to use technology in the learning process. Help my students to reinforce what they have learned and to learn new things through the use of Pods.
I am teacher/ mother to students who come from the inner city.
My students are second and third grade students who enjoy learning. Their opportunities to extend their learning is often limited to the inside of my classroom. We are part of a small school with only two teachers per grade level. Our classroom and school is very family like. Students often share teachers with their siblings. Teachers often visit students at their homes. My students are eager to receive any information I offer them. They love for me to listen to what they have learned. They come from homes where they are not always listened to. My goal is to provide an environment where they feel important, loved, and most of all heard!
My Project
The Pods provided will allow my students a new learning tool. They will be put to use along with other tools during learning workshops for all subjects. Educational apps will be added to each Pod. Students will then use the Pods to practice what they have learned, and to discover new information. Students will learn the importance of using technology effectively in the learning process.
In this age of technology, It is important to learn how to effectively use technological tools.
Your donations will provide my students with an opportunity to learn how to use technology in educating themselves. Often times students from my school are not afforded the opportunity to experience technology outside of school. It is important for them to learn that technology is more than video games and cell phones. Help them to learn no things and experience technology at the same time!
