Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are developing the "super power of being bilingual". They work really hard to improve their Spanish Language skills and learn specific Science and Social studies content at the same time.

98% of my students are English speakers, which means that they need to do an extra effort to grasp the content.

That is why it is so important for them to have access to technology because it provides them with the visual and interactive support they need to develop the Spanish language!

My Project

Our elementary school uses a model of small group instruction to ensure that meet each student in their own level. I work with a small group of kids while the rest of the students work independently in stations. One of the stations we have is the class is the technology station, actually we have a student portal called Clever which gives access to our students to explore different educational programs. This group of students will use the iPads to access Social Studies texts, Scientific articles. Also, they will use them as a dictionary and as a research tool for the class assignments.
