This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the privilege of teaching 18 energetic students who are working hard to close the achievement gap. Many of my students come from low-income households and receive free or reduced price breakfasts and lunches.
In our class we discuss our role in the community and the importance of helping others.
My students are relying on a limited number of classroom supplies because of the recent budget cuts. I am hoping I can show them how members of the community help those around them.
My Project
In our classroom, students have the ability to access online learning resources to further their understanding of the information they are receiving in the classroom. Students are able to be engaged in fun learning activities without realizing they are learning as they play. This allows the students to be engaged at all times and increase their learning potential.
Our classroom computers have been broken all year, and this has limited the students' access to these important learning materials.
In having these iPads for the classroom, students will be able to work with partners to share their learning as well as work independently to achieve their own learning goals!
