Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our elementary special education classroom is in need of two iPads to support the diverse learning needs of our students. These iPads will serve as invaluable tools for both educational enrichment and sensory regulation, aiding in the academic and emotional development of our exceptional learners.

With the integration of iPads into our curriculum, students will have access to a wide range of interactive educational apps and resources tailored to their individual learning styles and needs.

These apps can be personalized to target specific academic areas such as literacy, numeracy, and communication skills, providing a dynamic and engaging learning experience for every student.

Additionally, iPads offer a unique opportunity for students to take sensory breaks as needed throughout the day. Sensory breaks are essential for our students with special needs to regulate their sensory systems, reduce anxiety, and maintain focus and attention in the classroom. Utilizing specialized apps and activities, students can engage in calming exercises, visual and auditory stimulation, and interactive games designed to promote relaxation and self-regulation.

Unfortunately, our school is unable to provide iPads for our special education classroom, despite the proven benefits they offer for students with special needs. By funding this project, you will directly impact the educational experiences and outcomes of our exceptional learners, empowering them to reach their full potential and succeed both academically and emotionally.
