This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach Collab 7th grade Science and Social Studies at a Title I school where resources are limited, but imaginations are limitless. My students are curious, funny, and wildly creative. They thrive on hands-on learning—whether they’re acting out history, filming science experiments, or producing podcasts. Many come from low-income households and don’t have access to tech tools at home, yet they show up every day ready to create, explore, and make their voices heard.

This project will bring refurbished iPads and essential tools—tripods, mics, styluses, cases, and headphones—into our classroom so students can learn through creation, not just consumption.

Record and edit podcasts on current events or historical topics. Create green screen videos reenacting the Black Plague or scientific phenomena. Design digital posters and storyboards for multimedia projects. Use accessibility tools like voice typing and translation support

We’re not just learning facts—we’re building communication, creativity, and digital literacy that lasts far beyond middle school.

We are a Title I school, and my students deserve access to the same tech and opportunities as students in more affluent areas. These tools will help them collaborate, express themselves, and take pride in their work.
