Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach PreK in an Early Education Center. My students are very energetic and eager for knowledge. They learn best by interacting with the lesson. I use different teaching techniques to involve them and to keep them engaged. I am always looking for new ways to make learning fun and interesting for them. I work in a neighborhood with many lower-income families. I share a classroom with another teacher. We have 24 students each. Most of our students have few opportunities. We want to give them a head-start in their education.

My Project

My students are part of the technology age. They respond well to computer activities. Technology serves as a motivator and holds their attention. Computer activities help promote hand-eye coordination, language skills, school readiness, and problem-solving skills among other necessary proficiencies. I want to provide iPads to supplement small group lessons and to enhance music and storytime. I have started to use mindfulness and meditation apps with the children. I plan on setting up a listening center using iPads.

This is an exciting time for technology and iPads will be a wonderful addition to our learning experience.

I love technology and want to share my enthusiasm with my students.
