My music students are very enthusiastic about learning and making music together. Music education seems to be very important to our students and their families. They seem to be excited about what musical adventure lies ahead for them in each class session.
We have approximately six hundred and fifty students entering the music room each week!
Our school has approximately fifty-five percent international students from all over the world. What a delight it is for the world to come together in the music room where music is the language of the nations. The students at my school represent the idea of people learning to work in communion with one another. What adults could learn from these amazing young people!
I have had the opportunity to learn many new things over the summer and I am very excited about what's in store for all of us in the music room this coming school year. My hope is to always be an encouragement to the students to help them grow not just a musicians, but as fine human beings.
My Project
Personalized Learning in every content area of our school is important to our school district. With that in mind, I would like to be able to add more technology options in the music classroom. In addition, we are able to experience all of the wonderful music making with instruments, singing, movement, drama, folk dance, etc.
iPads would be an outstanding addition to our music education program for personalized learning.
We could use them for small group work, centers and for review of already learned concepts for new students coming into the music room for the first time, or for students who would benefit from a little remediation.
Thank you for helping us to move forward with technology in music education. Music education rocks!
