My students need iPads with cases and protection plans as well as a printer with ink in the classroom to help my students with language acquisition and school readiness skills.
I teach in a low economic school with diverse students. I have students who are special needs, limited English proficiency, and various educational backgrounds. I have students from Mexico, Cuba, and Malaysia. The cultures make my classroom a wonderful environment but also includes some educational challenges as this age level does not receive ESL services. Every student is eager to learn, but limited resources sometimes makes teaching difficult. I love coming to work each day but would like to give my students every opportunity possible.
My Project
My students need the opportunity to use technology in the classroom. I would like 2 iPads in order to help my students with English vocabulary, pre-reading skills, and school readiness skills. This will allow my students to use apps to increase their opportunities to use and hear English vocabulary and interact with vocabulary. I also need a printer so that I can print vocabulary and create a print rich environment. My school unfortunately does not have a large budget so this technology will be extremely valuable as a tool to increase fluency. This will also motivate my students to learn!
