My students need more opportunities to utilize technology throughout the day using iPads and protective cases to ensure they last! Plastic coins will be used in our behavior system and the sensory dough will be used in our morning tubs.
Teachers do not just teach, they inspire! The thing is, my students inspire me on a daily basis to be the best teacher I can be. We have an amazing community in OUR classroom but we need a few things to help that community run more smoothly.
Our school is working hard to become a National School of Character and my kiddos show it!
I have used Morning Tubs for the first time this year to get my students awake and excited for the day which has worked wonders! But the most amazing transformation has come from Morning Meetings. We begin every day by checking in with one another to see what each person needs to help them be successful for the day. Sometimes our discussions are serious and deep, and other times we find we just need to laugh with one another. No matter what we say, we know that we are becoming stronger as a community by showing our T.R.R.F.C.C character traits (Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Citizenship and Caring).
My Project
With technology needing to become a major part of every student's day, that can be difficult when resources are spread thin. My students begin their day by using Morning Tubs and doing math extension programs on computers or iPads. I would love for every student to have access to an iPad for the math program in the morning at least every other day. Currently, they are only able to use them once a week during our morning routines.
By receiving another iPad for the class, students will be able to access DreamBox and ExtraMath more frequently and they will be able to work in groups for research projects and learn how to be a good digital citizen.
Protective cases almost seem like a MUST! I want any of the materials I receive from your donations to last me as long as possible!
I also would like a set of plastic coins to use during math and to help with our classroom behavior system. Lakeshore dough and Mad Mattr will be used for morning tubs and to build 2D and 3D shapes in geometry.
