Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom is filled with first and second-grade students who have a passion for learning and have beautiful, kind hearts. These students show enthusiasm and curiosity with every new subject matter learned. They ask questions and show interest in why or how something is the way it is. My students are also the type of people we want to see in the world. They are willing to help one another achieve their personal success and show love and compassion. I believe that one day my students will change the world.

My Project

I am requesting three iPads to help extend my students' learning in the classroom. In our classroom, we are finding new ways to explore and use technology daily.

These three iPads will allow my students to have greater access to alternative ways of thinking through applications that iPads allow.

My students love learning through play and hands-on learning. We are fortunate to be able to enjoy learning with LEGO kits and Osmo. Having three extra iPads would allow students to enjoy these hands-on learning opportunities more frequently.

We will also use these iPads frequently during our math class. My students will use these iPads to watch me present live lessons on Nearpod and then show me their thinking about the lesson directly through the iPad immediately. We also utilize Kahoot to check for student understanding in a fun and engaging way in math and other subject areas.

Lastly, because my students are young, the touch screen feature on iPads allows for easy maneuvering for the little ones to work independently. They can easily find the apps we use in class and learn quickly how to get to their individualized learning programs that help support their learnings in the classroom.
