Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach 9th grade World History in a special education classroom where my students face challenges with reading, writing, and traditional assessments. Despite those challenges, they are creative, thoughtful, and capable of amazing work when given the right tools.
Many of my students learn best through hands-on, visual, and audio-based activities.
Some are English language learners, and others benefit from assistive technology to express themselves. When they have access to multimedia tools, they light up and become more engaged in class.
This project will provide my students with iPads so they can create interactive history presentations that show what they’ve learned in creative and meaningful ways.
This not only supports history learning but also builds confidence, communication, and 21st-century tech skills. The iPads will also be used across other subjects and in future years.
