My Students
I teach a variety of young learners with special needs. For some of these children school has been frustrating when being taught with traditional methods. When given the opportunity to use other more interactive and engaging methods they show an excitement for learning.
My students feel good about themselves when they participate with the same level of understanding as their peers.
These children have a desire to learn and understand and can excel when not being confined to a sit and listen method.
My Project
Technology is essential in today’s classroom. This is especially true for learners with special needs. With iPads, my students will be able to access knowledge in ways that traditional learning has not allowed.
Many of our curriculum textbooks have online components that can enrich a students learning.
By having easy access to those resources my student with special needs will be able to understand the material in ways that worksheets or whole class learning has been unable to do.
In addition, having iPads will allow my students to learn a new skill such as money or writing in ways that are entertaining as well as educational. The ability to use an iPad will help them to look forward to eduction and could generate in them a new desire for learning.
