Help me give my students iPads with protective cases and headphones so they can access learning using technology and access software to build functional communication to aid with their verbal and non-verbal communication.

My Students
I teach a wonderful group of 3 and 4-year-olds with Autism, developmental disorders, speech delays, and/or other similar needs in a self-contained special education Head Start preschool/PreK class in DC. Like all young children, my students are learning every day how to be at school and discovering what they love. For my students, though, some parts of this journey of discovery and education come with additional challenges, which they work hard to overcome.
While my students learn their ABCs, how to count, and prepare to read and write, they are also learning how to communicate, working on social interactions, and trying to find ways to manage and regulate challenging behaviors.
Every year, I get to be a part of their growth and discovery, and every year I am so proud of the personal, developmental, and academic progress each student makes.
My students work hard and are proud of the skills they learn. And like every other child, they each have things they love and things they don't love so much. Some favorite things in my class are cars, books (esp. Pete the Cat!), sensory toys (bubble wrap and pop-its!), dancing, Paw Patrol, Elmo, balls, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and singing.
My Project
In my self-contained special education classroom, we use a mix of low-tech and high-tech learning tools to teach my students, who are Autistic and/or have other disabilities and developmental delays.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual learning introduced me to several new apps and learning websites, which my students really responded to - iPads for each student to use in the classroom would mean they can continue to use these tools every day, without fighting overuse of one classroom device.
I am hoping to fund four total projects with two Apple iPads each (which the apps are most compatible with), including protective cases, headphones, and adapters to use the headphones with the iPads - for a total of 8 iPads. Having multiple devices will allow my teaching assistants and I to use them at the same time with multiple students during centers and throughout the day.
Individual iPads for each student also means each student could have their own device to use to build functional communication, using pictures and communication software.
Thank you for considering this project and supporting my students and classroom!
