My Students

Imagine being in a room where 7 little faces walk in each and every day smiling and excited to be there. Those are the inspiring faces I get to see Monday through Friday. My students are kindergarten through third graders with moderate to severe disabilities. Though they face many challenges in their life at school, you would never have guessed it by looking at their smiles and getting to know their rockstar personalities. They push through their challenges each and every day, and surprise me in the things that they accomplish.

My Project

We use devices to assess and engage students learning within our curriculum. In order to make sure every student has this opportunity, we need enough devices for each student. We work on a variety of skills using the iPads, including English Language Arts, Math, and Handwriting. In addition to using iPads for curriculum, our students enjoy playing educational games on iPads. Our students work very hard all day long, and some choose iPads as their reinforcement for a job well done. Giving them time to play educational games gets them excited and motivated to keep working so they can earn more time on the iPad!
