This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
n our classroom, students receive fake money that we call "Santi Bucks" for a number of things which include: participating in class, positive behavior, turning in their cell phones for the entire class period, cleaning up after themselves, completing assignments, and professionalism. At the end of the week, students calculate how many "Santi Bucks" they have earned and have the opportunity to purchase items from the student store. The students have asked if we can do a big raffle at the end of the school year and I think this is a great incentive. Each week, students will be able to purchase raffle tickets.
At the end of the school year, two raffle tickets will be drawn for students to win an iPad.
These incentives are crucial because they serve as a reward and motivator for positive behavior for the students. The students get very excited about these incentives and are highly motivated to work for prizes and iPads!
