My students need 4 iPads (with protective cases) for collaborative projects. We want to create programs for Sphero and LEGO WeDo robots. We also want to start creating our own videos with special green screen effects!

My Students
My students attend a Title 1 school and most of them live in technology poor homes. While a parent typically has a cell phone, most of the students do not have a computer or tablet for personal use. If they have a device, it is seldom connected to the Internet. Our school is the one place where many of them get to learn about and use technology for the first time.
My students are a lot like me; we love science and technology.
I thrive on discovering and sharing new programs and apps, and they love trying them out! They are literally waiting and hoping for more.
This year, my students started using Scratch, Code.Org, and our little round robots known as Sphero. My students are experiencing math and learning in new and exciting ways--and they are being prepared for the 21st Century.
My Project
Does anyone want to create a program for Sphero to make him pass through a maze? "YES!"
My fondest memories as a student began in a Montessori school where I was able to paint, sing, play, and do things.
It's this memory which drives so many of my lessons in class. I want to create experiences for my students. I love giving them open-ended projects where they have opportunities to stretch and grow.
Having iPads will enable us to make and create--and play. The possibilities are endless. With your support, my students will get to experience something beyond textbooks, like programming robots and creating videos. The iPads will support our Project Based Learning (PBL) and will be a great resource for nurturing creativity.
