My kindergarteners are a group of incredibly diverse, curious, and imaginative kids who deserve an educational experience to match. They love to learn and I want to explore the opportunity of expanding their learning through the use of technology. My students are inner city, high poverty students with ambition. I teach at a Title I school where 100 percent of students receive free breakfast and lunch.These amazing kids love to learn together and are a wonderful picture of what our world can be. Although my kids live in very different households, from motels to apartments, to homes, they come to our classroom every day as a stimulating environment in which they can reach their full potential.
My students come from different backgrounds and most of them aren't able to access the internet because of the lack of technology in the homes.
My Project
Having the iPad minis will allow all students time on the internet. We do not have enough computers for each one of my students to use during computer lab time.
The iPad minis and other learning apps such as ABC Mouse will allow my students to strengthen their learning.
My students will also use these iPad minis to work on a lesson during center time. This will help my classroom ensure our centers are productive. This can also help with my ESL learners in the classroom, with visual and kinesthetic approaches. An iPad will be a hands-on way to draw interest to learning!
