I am the librarian at a fabulous elementary school near Reno, Nevada. I service about 325 students at my small rural school. They love to come to school every day and definitely LOVE their time in the library! The students are a very diverse group and have a range of ability levels. One thing they all have in common - they are all learning to love books and reading!
My Project
Every day I try to make books, reading, and the library more accessible to all of my students. These iPads will be key in unlocking the library even more for the children.
The technology will provide much more access for students to all of the library's amazing content.
Students will be able to find titles quickly through online databases. They will also be able to use the iPads accessibility functions to help them easily access text. Students will be able to listen to books or even watch books on video through applications we will be able to place on these devices. The kids will even be able learn about authors all over the country!
This project meets
RI.1.10, 2.10, 3.10, 4.10, & 5.10 - Read and comprehend informational text at the high end of the grade level complexity band
RL.1.10, 2.10, 3.10, 4.10, & 5.10 - Read and comprehend literature at the high end of the grade level complexity band
I truly cannot wait to help bring literature closer to the students and help them grow in their love of reading!
