it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever walked into a room and from that one brief visit you could tell that these students are so engaged hungry to learn that they are relying on the aid of a school community to guide them to achieve their full potential? For me, this is my reality! I have been so fortunate to be a second grade English New Language Learner teacher of such diverse, caring and dedicated learners!
Every student in my classroom has shown an absolute dedication to their education, regardless of language proficiency.
ENL students have the challenge of not only acquiring the English language but meeting grade level standards and having an understanding of all academic areas. To further support my learners and our future scientists, engineers and tech savvy future I am trying to raise technology exposure in our classroom to reinforce all content areas especially math, social studies and science to further develop their knowledge of the English language.
My Project
Being in such a technologically savvy world, iPads are one of the most versatile pieces of technology today. Since most students are familiar with navigating a cell phone -with the IPads the students can reinforce their reading and writing skills as well as get exposure to the more technological side of the technology world. I want my students to be exposed to coding as well as robotics. I feel with taking a tool they are interested in and aligning it with science will help the students look at science differently and help provide additional opportunities and exposure in today's every changing society.
