My Students

My students are inquisitive, enthusiastic learners who LOVE technology! They are great at working together to create using a variety of technology in the library. My students are interested in a many different apps and programs to learn about coding, stop-motion animation, and exploring their world in 3D. They come to school ready to learn, ask questions, and solve problems. They make me excited to come to work each day!

Our school is in a small, tight-knit community in Virginia.

We have great parents, community members, and businesses that support our students the best they can. A portion of our students still does not have regular internet access at home and digital learning is difficult for them. Our school is one of traditions and community while also being a school that blazes on into the future.

My students are so excited about pushing the envelope and learning new things. They often come to me with new ideas and new ways to explore the topics we're learning about. Often, with written proposals and signed petitions. They are true leaders in their school and personal lives.

My Project

Our students arrive at school with differing backgrounds and varying access to technology. I want our school to be a place of equality for all of our students. In order to level the playing field, I would like to have 5 iPad Minis in our library. Our students will use this technology to explore coding, virtual reality, and other interests such as stop-motion animation.

Our teachers use the Genius Hour format to help students develop their passions.

These iPads will assist students who are interested in technology to complete their projects. Students will be able to solve real world problems and create for their future.
