My Project
My first-grade students are curious, creative, and excited to learn. They come to school each day full of energy and ready to grow as readers. Many of them are at different stages in their reading journey, and having the right tools during small group and center time can make a world of difference in how confident and successful they feel.
This project will provide 4 new iPads and headphones that will be used during small group instruction and centers—especially during our ROYO (Read On Your Own) time.
These iPads will allow students to engage in interactive reading programs, access leveled digital libraries, and use phonics apps that align with our classroom curriculum. The headphones will help minimize distractions so students can focus and fully engage with their reading materials.
These tools will allow me to differentiate instruction, give meaningful feedback to students, and provide quiet, independent practice time while I work with small groups. Whether they're listening to stories, building fluency, or working through personalized phonics lessons, every student will benefit.
With access to iPads and headphones, my students will be able to explore a world of reading that matches their individual learning needs and interests. It will also promote digital literacy and independence, skills that will serve them well beyond first grade. This project brings equity to our classroom by giving all students access to the technology they need to thrive.
