My students need these 2 iPad Mini tablets with headphones and cases so they can record and play videos of themselves reading books, access sight words and vocabulary words with QR codes, and practice reading with Lively Letters!
My students are such hard workers and overcome so much in their lives in order to find success. I teach ELL students at a Title 1 school in Las Vegas. One hundred percent of the students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch every day, with many of them also receiving supplemental food bags that go home with them on the weekends.
The students at my school have a lot of obstacles to overcome, such as language development and home lives that make learning difficult.
I do all that I can to make our classroom a safe, warm, and inviting place for them to come to every day. Having a place that they feel welcome and safe is conducive to their ability to learn all that they can!
My Project
Generation Z is expected to know how to use technology to create, build, and innovate. My kids need these 2 iPad Mini Tablets with headphones and cases because they will help them to learn to read, think, share, and reflect. Using the tablets, we will be able to use educational applications, create digital projects to share with parents, assess student growth, scan QR codes, and complete research projects. In addition, the majority of my students are dual language learners so having a visual representation of vocabulary words is such a powerful way for ESL students to make growth in fluency and comprehension. The students can record videos of themselves reading and thinking out loud, and then we can learn from those videos together!
Very few of my students have access to technology at home, so they struggle to keep up with the technological advancements that other students their age may already have at home.
Having tablets at school, will allow them the chance to learn how to use technology in so many ways and encourage them to be excited to learn all subjects!
