Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

A new initiative that we are working on starting within our learning community is an advanced writing group. The goal of this group would be for them to engage in the writing and publication process. The aim is to start with a few scholars working on the creation of a newsletter that will be shared with our school community.

The utilization of technology to enhance learning opportunities is valuable for student growth.

Having access to two iPads will enable the scholars to be able to work with programs where they can design the newsletter and publish their own written work.

The amazing thing about the scholars who will engage in this new initiative is that they are so creative. As these newsletters will be very student driven, I know that there will be a wide variety of topics covered. From Chess, to favorite books, to updates about our school rabbit Waffle, this newsletter will be full of creative and engaging student driven content.
