Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have grown up with technology at the fingertips! As teachers, we must recognize this and adapt our teaching style so that learners are fully engaged. iPads would be an excellent digital tool to use in my classroom with endless learning possibilities.
I am an Intervention Specialist working with first through sixth grade students who struggle with reading and math.
We are located in a low income, high needs, area of California
Due to the recent budget cuts and the shaky economy, our school and our families are struggling to get by. We do not have the funds to purchase many of the materials that will enable us to keep with the current trends in education.
My Project
There are so many ways an iPad can engage learners. The students are more motivated to learn when learning is fun. Students can access math and reading apps, visually pleasing glossaries in all subjects, create digital stories, organize homework etc! The possibilities are endless.
Since many of my students do not have access to technology at home due to their socioeconomic background; these iPads will provide them with an opportunity to learn and ready themselves to be a part of the ever changing technological world.
