Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a Title I school, and most of my students are at-risk students who struggle with success in school. The majority of our students receive either free or reduced lunch.

They come from a high poverty neighborhood which makes getting an education challenging at times.

Despite the disadvantages they face inside and outside of the classroom, my students love to explore and actively learn new things. They enjoy learning math using technology.

I love watching them grow academically as they realize their potential. I am also amazed by how they are growing into incredible, inspiring, world-changers.

My Project

Having iPads in my classroom will help facilitate small group instruction. While I am working with one group of students, another group will be on the iPads completing math projects, school assignments and I-ready.

It will allow them to do projects and assignments they would not otherwise be able to do such as creating review games and presentations.

Using iPads in the classroom will also teach my students how to use technology in a professional setting. They will learn the difference between appropriate language to use with their friends on technology verses appropriate language to use in a classroom or job.
