Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is s-l-o-w-l-y being transformed, where my students choose their own learning path, place, and pace. However, my students need more iPads to speed up the transformation.
My second graders are an energetic group of tech savvy, young scholars who are eager to learn in an interactive, hands-on environment.
They attend an affiliated charter school in California with an emphasis on math, science, and technology. Throughout the year, they will be exposed to numerous learning experiences that will help narrow the learning gap and bridge the digital divide.
My Project
My classroom is changing into a blended learning environment. Blended learning is a component of formal education where students learn part of the curriculum through online tasks/activities and part through the traditional method. The requested iPad will allow more of my students to access the e-learning curriculum at their own pace and along their own individual path. My students will be able to upload and read e-books, access their digital math text, cross reference questionable concepts using various educational websites, preview-review science videos, complete assignments, take assessments, and receive instant feedback. They will also be able to learn "computer programming" at their level using kid friendly applications.
Donations to my project "iPads for a Blended Learning Environment" will significantly improve student learning and growth through personalized learning experiences.
Not only will my students become data and technology literate, they will take ownership of their learning in a fun, engaging way.
