iPads Can Help Us Learn

My Students

The world of technology is changing every day and we don't want to be left behind. My first graders deserve an opportunity to take part and be exposed to this wonderful technology around them.

I teach a fabulous group of first graders in a large urban community.

The 12 boys and 12 girls are diverse in their experiences, as well as their culture and socioeconomic backgrounds. My students love to learn. They are sponges for new things around them. My students are a wonderful group of six and seven year old boys and girls who are inquisitive, bright and creative. They are always questioning and show a wide thirst of knowledge.

My Project

Unfortunately, with budget cuts and other monetary issues, technology is the last thing being added or funded in our classrooms. This is so unfortunate because technology like the Apple iPad should be available to all children. There are hundreds of apps available that would be such a benefit to my first graders in helping them learn about their world. It would help them become better readers and mathematicians. My students deserve and desperately need every opportunity to explore the world around them through technology that these Apple iPads will allow them to do.

I try very hard to provide my students with technology that connects them to the world beyond our classroom.

Your help will allow my first grade students to enter into an exciting world of technology. Best of all, the iPads will benefit students in my classroom for years to come! Thank you for making it possible for my students to continue to be motivated, inspired, and engaged through technology.
